Prompt: Summer Solstice

Just a quick post today - Share with us what the Summer Solstice means to you.

Sure, it's the longest day of the year.... but what makes it a special day to YOU?

Prompt: Losing Touch

I have been so "disconnected" lately, from the things I was thoroughly enjoying, like visiting everyone's blogs, writing in my own, and being aware of myself. I'm losing touch with who I am and what I want.

What do you do to recharge and re-energize? How do you get back in touch with yourself after being so caught up in the mundane of every-day life, work and bills?

Also, I'm curious how you recognize that you've lost touch. Is there some sort of signal, some sign that you notice, that tells you it's time to take a break?

I hope I can find the time for myself soon, or at least for the internet-based things I enjoy so much. I miss reading all of your wonderful responses...

Prompt: Altar

Thanks for the great responses last week. I haven't had the chance to make it to everyone's post and comment like usual, but I will, soon.

Continuing on with last week's prompt, I'd like to know:
What does your altar look like?
What kinds of items do you include, and why?
What does each item symbolize, or what purpose does it serve?

Feel free to include a visual, if you like. Might be kinda fun to take a picture or 2 and label the different things in it....

Prompt: Sacred Space

It's amazing how the days can get away from you when you are busy... Sometimes we just need to slow down (or stop) and just re-connect and re-energize ourselves.

When these times come along, we need a place that we can go, far away from the stress of the mundane, while remaining safe in this vulnerable position. This is often referred to as Sacred Space.

While sacred space may be used for meditation (as suggested above), it can also simply mean the area around one's altar, or the surrounding space for a ritual.

Do you have sacred space designated? or is it something you only create when you need it? What kind of space do you like to use (indoor, outdoor, etc)?

I think I will take this topic on into next week, when I will ask about your altar. So for this week, just write about the sacred space you make/use, and/or how you make it.
