The premise

Pagan Blog Prompts is a place to find inspiration for writing in your own blog concerning Pagan themes. Each Thursday, a new thought-provoking prompt is posted. Take the idea and run with it - let all your thoughts flow through your fingers and into your blog. Then come back here and comment on the original prompt post with a link to your blog, so we can all see what it is that makes you tick. Subscribe via Email, Follow us, of Like us on Facebook (links on the right), to keep up with new postings!

Prompt: Beltane/May Day

It's Beltane (or almost, anyhow)! Do you celebrate or honor this holiday? If so, how?

If you got here before Beltane, feel free to share any plans you may have for the upcoming day. If you aren't posting until afterwards, we'd like to see a recap of what you did this year (unless you prefer to keep it private - that's fine, too).

Or, if you don't feel like blogging about what you will be doing (or just did) to honor this day, use this as an excuse to share some thoughts on the history/meaning of the holiday. Or explore what kind of significance this time of year has for you..... There's a lot of ways you can take this.

I look forward to the abundance of replies on this one :)
Blessings!

Prompt: Earth Day

While Earth Day was "technically" yesterday, I tend to live by the saying "make Every Day Earth Day."

Does the same apply to you? Do your Pagan beliefs lead you to be more eco-conscious in your daily life? Or are spirituality and "being green" 2 separate things?

What are some of the ways that you are eco-minded in your life, or how do they relate to being Pagan?

Feel free to expand in any way you see fit on this topic. Heck, I might have to write more than one blog post about this....

Blessings!

Keep up with us!

Just wanted to let everyone know that, thanks to FeedBurner and Blogger, now you can do more than simply "follow" the blog. On the side bar, you should see a form where you can submit your email address (your secret identity is safe with me!) to receive new posts in your Inbox. I've also added links so you can add the blog feed to your RSS Reader of choice. However you keep up with your favorite sites, you should be able to add this blog to that list now as well.

Prompt: Rituals

This week, we're talking about Rituals.
Do you perform rituals? Or are they not right for you?
If you do, give us a basic outline of a ritual you've done in the past.
Share a little insight into what rituals mean to you and how you go about them.

Then come back and comment with a link to your post.
Blessings!

An Award!

This blog has only been open less than 2 weeks, and it's already earned a blogging award! How kind, and surprising!

Crafty Cutie was chosen by a follower of her blog, and subsequently chose me and this new blog to receive the award as well!

Thanks for thinking highly of me and my promising new project! I hope I can do you proud.

Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that the 'sister' blog, Pagan Prompts on WordPress, has ceased to exist at this time. I spoke with Jen, who had created it, and even though I was willing to work side-by-side with her and not step on anyone's toes, she felt it best to close her blog right away, and direct traffic here.

So, if you are here because of Jen and the WordPress version, glad to have you here. Actually, I am glad to have everyone here, following and posting and commenting! Knowing that I am posting insightful questions for you all to blog about is what will keep this place going, not to mention the suggestions and ideas that will inevitably come up while I read through your own blogs ;)

Blessings!

Prompt: The Broom Closet

Thanks for the great start so far, everyone! I enjoyed reading your posts about what makes you a Pagan, what it is that separates you from others, and what you believe.

This week, I'm asking about the 'broom closet', as you may have heard it referenced before. Are you in or out of the Broom Closet? Do others (beyond the computer screen) know what you believe and practice? Or is this something, for whatever reason, that you need to keep hidden? Feel free to elaborate, if you like, about why you are still in, or what it was like 'coming out of the closet' to your closest family and friends.

Competition? Hope not.

Shortly after creating this blog I received an email from Jen, telling me that she had stumbled upon my new blog through Witches Weekly (an inspiration for this blog). Ironically, she had also just created a blog for posting pagan-themed prompts, but on WordPress. Our blogs were created within days of each other, without knowing the other existed - how strange! Guess the internet really needed some serious Pagan blog-writing inspiration!

Jen and I have been in contact and are working on ways to have our blogs coexist peacefully. We do not want to take readers away from each other, but rather share our readers with each other. We post on different days of the week, and will try our best to avoid posting the same topic in the same week, since we know that no one really wants to answer the same question twice so close together. It's still in the works, though. We'll let you know as more details are hashed out.

Keep up with both blogs, and never find yourself lacking for pagan-based blog inspiration!

Just wanted to say, as well, thanks to everyone who has commented so far! I am amazed at how quickly this is catching on! Keep spreading the word, tell your friends (there's even a handy code on the sidebar you can copy and post in your blog), and check back each Thursday for a new prompt! Don't forget, if you are new, you are always welcome to read and respond to the older posts as well as the newest one.

Until next time,
~ Sunfire

First Prompt

I suppose it couldn't hurt to put up the first prompt.... It IS still Thursday after all.... and Commenting will remain open forever, so even if you started following this later on, you can always come back and answer this later.

Alright, on with it! LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What makes you a Pagan?
And don't just say "Because I'm not Christian".... I would like to see you fully explore how your beliefs fit with those typical of other Pagans. What is it about you and your life that made you associate with the label of "Pagan"?
