Today's prompt is about the Wiccan Rede. What do you think of the rede? Do you follow it? There are about a billion ways to interpret that last line, "An it harm none, do as thou wilt". What does this personally mean to you? Does this mean as long as you aren't harming anyone...you're good to go? What constitutes harm? Does it carry over into animal rights? Does it cover even commonplace things like ear piercings or tattoos? YOU are included in the "harm none" clause, so does this mean you should hold yourself to a healthy lifestyle that doesn't harm your body?
What do you all think?

Prompt: Pagan "Coming out of the broom closet day"
Posted by
Ivy
Today is National Pagan coming out of the broom closet day. So in honor of this, I figured I would post today's prompt all about coming out of the broom closet.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the expression, it basically means letting your friends and family know that you identify as Pagan/Wiccan/etc.
How does everyone feel about coming out of the broom closet? Is it necessary? Are you in or out? Somewhere in between? Did you experience any negative reactions? Any awesome ones? How did this go for you, if you have gone through it?
Lets hear it!

Prompt: Beltane

With Beltane less than a week away, I thought it was only appropriate to have our prompt be about it. How do you celebrate? Is it a personal celebration, or do you go to a public gathering? What does it mean to you, personally?

Prompt: Religion vs. Spirituality
Posted by
Ivy
A few days ago while scrolling through my Facebook news feed, I came across the following image/quote:
So today's prompt is going to be based off of it because it really got me thinking. Do you agree with the above statement? Disagree? Can one be both "religious" AND "spiritual", or are they a progression towards a higher point? If spirituality is where one can find "sacredness", then can religious people find sacredness as well or is that something only for people who are "spiritual"? This quote brings to mind many questions and many ideas, all of which I enjoyed debating with like-minded friends.
The following is a definition of religion (Credit: source): Religion is an organized collection of belief systems, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the Universe. From their ideas about the cosmos and human nature, they tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle. According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world.
The following is a definition of spirituality (Credit: source): The term spirituality lacks a definitive definition, although social scientists have defined spirituality as the search for "the sacred," where "the sacred" is broadly defined as that which is set apart from the ordinary and worthy of veneration.
The use of the term "spirituality" has changed throughout the ages. In modern times spirituality is often separated from religion, and connotes a blend of humanistic psychology with mystical and esoteric traditions and eastern religions aimed at personal well-being and personal development.
Enjoy! Happy blogging.
Blessed be.

Prompt: The Circle Of Life
Posted by
Shauna Lane
Lately many of my loved ones and myself have been touched by the sorrow and shock of loss, and by the joy and excitement of birth. Loss of parents, grandparents, friends. And the birth of new babies, whether they be human babies or pets. It has led me to do a lot of reflecting on the cycle of life, the process of coming into the world, the life we lead, and exiting the world.
When you were young, how was the circle of life explained to you? How has your life experience taught you or enlightened you on this topic? If you have children, how have you or will you teach them?

Prompt: Coven vs. Solitary Practice
Posted by
Ivy
Please forgive me if this prompt has been done, but coven vs. solitary practice is something I have always been interested in. I practice in a coven myself, but spent a many good years doing my own thing as a solitary, so I have felt first have the benefits and drawbacks of both situations.
How do you all feel? Do you practice in a group or solitary? Which do you prefer? If you chose one over the other, why do you feel that way? If you are a coven member, would you ever go back to being solitary? If you practice alone, would you ever join a group? Just something to think over. :)
I look forward to reading your thoughts!!
